Mitsubishi Mirage G4 Dashboard Lights
Your dashboard and instrument cluster can tell you a lot about how your car is doing and when it needs service. So, what do all the lights on your Mitsubishi Mirage G4 mean?
To help drivers in Toms River, Brick, and Freehold know when it’s time to schedule service, Toms River Mitsubishi looks at some of the most important Mitsubishi Mirage G4 dashboard lights.
Green lights are a way of letting you know when a feature has been turned on. Some green lights you might see on your dashboard are:
- ECO – If you turn on ECO mode to make your drive more efficient, you’ll see the word ECO appear on your instrument cluster.
- High Beams – When you flip your high beams on, you’ll see a light that looks like two headlights.
- Low Coolant Temperature – This looks like a thermometer floating on some waves. When it appears in green, your coolant and engine are at a safe temperature.
Yellow dashboard lights are an alert to let you know that you need to schedule service soon. While you won’t have to pull over and call for a tow truck, you should visit our service center and get your Mitsubishi Mirage G4 looked at as soon as possible. Some yellow lights to look out for include:
ABS – When your anti-lock brake system malfunctions, you’ll see the letters ABS inside a circle. You’ll still be able to slow down and stop safely using your regular brakes, but you should get this fixed right away.
Electric Power Steering – A dashboard light that looks like your steering wheel next to an exclamation mark means that there’s a problem with your Mitsubishi Mirage G4’s power steering system.
Tire Pressure Monitoring System – This light looks like an exclamation mark that’s underlined and inside a set of parentheses. If the light stays solid that means one of your tires is low on air. If it flashes there may be a problem with the system.
Check Engine – Your check engine light will either look like a picture of your engine or show the words, “SERVICE ENGINE SOON.”
Red dashboard lights are a serious warning. The best thing you can do when you see a red light is pull over, stop the car, and call for a tow truck. It can be dangerous to you, your Mirage G4, and other drivers to continue driving with a red light on. Some of the warnings you should be aware of are:
High Coolant Temp – When the thermometer logo appears in red, it means that your engine is overheating.
Low Oil Pressure – When you’re low on oil or overdue for an oil change, you’ll see a dashboard light that looks like an old-fashioned oil can.
Charging System Failure – A light that looks like your car battery means that there’s a problem with your electrical system or catalytic converter, or that you have a dead battery.
Brake System Failure – When there’s a problem with your main brake system, you’ll either see the word “BRAKE” or an exclamation mark inside a circle.
